The team, which includes students from Católica Porto Business School and Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, institutions of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, is one of five selected for the National Final of the "O meu Futuro Financeiro" (My Financial Future) competition, organised by Banco de Portugal and the CFA Society Portugal.
Vitória Afonso and Rafaela Melo (from the Management bachelor's degree at Católica Porto Business School) and Carolina Mendonça and Francisca Sousa (respectively from the Bioengineering bachelor's degree and the Biomedical Engineering master's programme at the School of Biotechnology), stood out among 124 teams from 27 universities, in a universe of more than 390 students.
The National Final will be held at the Money Museum in Lisbon on 17 March at 2 p.m., where the students will compete in the last phase of the competition. In this last phase, the finalists are challenged to present their conclusions orally and answer questions posed by the jury, in an exercise that tests their financial knowledge and ability to argue.
The competition, held as part of the celebration of Financial Literacy Week and Global Money Week 2025, aims to promote financial literacy among university students, encouraging the adoption of good practices in budget management, savings, responsible use of credit and digital financial security.
Católica Porto Business School has been promoting financial literacy among its students and, in October, had already hosted the Banco de Portugal and the CFA Society Portugal for an event dedicated to this topic. The presence of its students in the National Final of the “My Financial Future” competition reinforces Católica Porto Business School's commitment to training highly qualified students who are prepared for the challenges of the market.
