lberto Castro, Visiting Full Professor at Católica Porto Business School and Director of CEGEA, will be debating economic policy topics at the “Productivity and Innovation Forum” this Wednesday, June 19th at 2 p.m.

The 5th Forum Conference, promoted by the AEP Foundation in partnership with SEDES - Association for Economic and Social Development, and in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the District of Aveiro, brings together the economic and academic sectors in Aveiro to discuss “the recovery of investment in the tradable goods sectors and the role of Industry in the Economy and Sustainable Development”.

The conference will also feature opening speeches by Fernando Castro (president of AIDA CCI - Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the District of Aveiro), Álvaro Beleza (president of SEDES) and Luís Miguel Ribeiro (president of the AEP Foundation). The discussion panel will include, in addition to Alberto Castro, Ana Lehmann (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto) and João Ferreira do Amaral (Higher Institute of Economics and Management).

The outcome of this forum will be the publication of a book, which will include the papers presented and discussed during the various sessions, as well as a concrete agenda proposal for reforms aimed at solving the puzzle of productivity and growth in Portugal.
