Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) signed a cooperation protocol, whose first outcome is launching the new Postgraduate Programme in Entrepreneurship & Business Development.

For Rui Soucasaux Sousa, dean of Católica Porto Business School, this partnership “is further evidence of the close connection of our School to the business reality, strengthening its mission to promote entrepreneurship and innovation with impact”.

For the programme director, Luís Pina Rebelo, this protocol “will allow the development of more relevant activities for the Portuguese economy's competitiveness and the companies' empowerment, such as advanced training in management and entrepreneurship". The CPBS professor also highlights the case of Portuguese start-ups, which "have particular funding necessities".

Over the last decades, the Portuguese business ecosystem has grown considerably. The president of ANJE, Alexandre Meireles, says that "the country now has talent, innovation potential, incubators and public support to implement value-added business projects. We already have seven Portuguese unicorns (valued at over 36 billion euros), 2236 start-ups, and 165 incubators and accelerators in the country".

It is within this expanding environment that this course appears. Luís Pina Rebelo underlines that the goal is to "provide support for the development of an ongoing project, or an idea implementation, as well as for its funding". "This is a training programme for executives in entrepreneurship and management areas, varying due to its highly practical and applied nature", adds Alexandre Meireles.

The first edition of the Postgraduate Programme in Entrepreneurship & Business Development will start in February 2024. For those interested, learn more about the programme and apply here.
