Católica Porto Business School hosted the Deep Tech & Business Case Summer School from July 8th to 19th, a programme funded by the European Union.
Approximately 24 students had the opportunity over two weeks to deepen their knowledge on topics at the forefront of innovative technologies based on scientific advancements, including themes such as artificial intelligence and robotics, biotechnology, clean technologies, and issues related to creating a business case. In summary, the trainees received practical training integrated with the reality of the current market.
The Deep Tech & Business Case Summer School is organised into two parts: during the first week, participants have online classes, and in the second week, lessons and activities take place in person in Porto. At the end of the programme, participants must present a business case, with the best group receiving a prize of €2.000.
In this year's edition, two winning projects stood out for their ability to interpret market needs and understand the proposals of companies linked to nuclear fusion and cellular agriculture.
The Deep Tech & Business Case Summer School, like all Summer Schools promoted by Católica Porto Business School, is taught by professors and industry specialists, providing participants with an enriching learning experience connected to practical and business reality.
Susana Costa e Silva, the programme director and professor at Católica Porto Business School, emphasises that "this is an excellent opportunity for participants to deepen their knowledge, explore new perspectives through the adoption of a broader and more global vision, build professional relationships, and expand their networking.
