Sandra Pereira is Reader at Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. Her research is focused on the institutional field, exploring concepts of micro-institutionalisation, custodianship, and logics. Sandra’s research has mainly been conducted in the contexts of management consultancy interventions, and, more recently, on universities. In the latter context, she is particularly interested in how extreme events, such as the pandemic, impact the teaching and learning experience, at several levels. She has also conducted research on pedagogical issues, such as teaching large audiences and the TaBLE case study method. Sandra is currently editing a Special Issue for the Journal of Management Education on Management Education in Africa. Her contributions and outcomes of her research have been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Learning and Education, British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Management Education.

Abstract

Most of us who teach are already engaging in extraordinary, creative, and innovative practices. Even if we do not always explicitly articulate them, we continually experiment with pedagogical approaches to achieve learning objectives while providing students with an engaging and fulfilling educational experience.

These experiments—and our reflections on them—can serve as an excellent foundation for publications in management education journals such as the Journal of Management Education (JME).

In this session, we will share our experiences not only as authors but also as reviewers and Associate Editors. Our aim is to inspire new ideas and support you in transforming them into tangible scholarly contributions.
