Universidade Católica and Fundação Ilídio Pinho sign Collaboration Agreement

The Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the Fundação Ilídio Pinho have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at supporting initiatives under the Economy of Francis and Clare Chair initiative, as well as the launch of the “Centre for Impact in Global Management” (CIGMA) at Católica Porto Business School, scheduled for 27 January.

This agreement strengthens the partnership between two institutions committed to innovation, entrepreneurship and social development in Portugal. The mission of Universidade Católica Portuguesa is to encourage and develop individuals of integrity, preparing them to become leaders in their fields through academic and scientific education aligned with the highest international standards, while fostering ethical and socially responsible behaviour. In turn, the Ilídio Pinho Foundation, which pursues scientific, cultural and social solidarity objectives, has played a key role in the areas of education and social support, with a particular focus on promoting education, innovation and entrepreneurship.

“This partnership with the Fundação Ilídio Pinho represents another significant step in our commitment to educating leaders who combine academic excellence with social responsibility. Together, we aim to enhance the transformative impact of education and research, creating value for society,” said the President of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Isabel Capeloa Gil.

Ilídio Pinho reinforced his long-standing connection with Católica, stating that “when I am at Católica, I feel at home”. He also highlighted the current challenges facing Portugal and the world, noting that the signing of this agreement reflects the alignment between the two institutions in their pursuit of solutions that generate genuine wealth for society.

The protocol signing ceremony took place on 15 January at the Porto campus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and was attended by Ilídio Pinho, President of the Ilídio Pinho Foundation; Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the University; Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector; João Pinto, Dean of Católica Porto Business School; and Susana Costa e Silva and Ana Salomé Martins, Coordinators of CIGMA.
