On 6 February, Católica Porto Business School hosted the Students and Alumni Gathering of the Postgraduate Programme in Healthcare Management, a moment of sharing, networking and connection between different generations of the programme.

The event also marked the start of the new class, with around 40 participants, providing immediate integration into the alumni community and contact with experienced professionals from the healthcare sector from day one.

As in previous editions, the Postgraduate Programme in Healthcare Management brings together professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare management. This diversity of profiles contributes to a richer learning experience, grounded in the exchange of perspectives, discussion of real-world challenges and the practical application of acquired knowledge.

The event was attended by the President of the Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators (APAH) and Director of the Ambulatory Care Centre at ULS São João, EPE, Xavier Barreto, a professional widely recognised for his career in healthcare management. His contribution offered an in-depth reflection on current sector challenges, the evolution of management models and the importance of leadership in transforming healthcare delivery.

This gathering reinforced Católica Porto Business School’s commitment to promoting learning beyond the classroom, encouraging close engagement with the realities of the sector, the sharing of experiences and the strengthening of the professional network of its students and alumni.
