Networking and opportunities mark the 12th edition of Career Day at Católica Porto Business School

On 5 March, Católica Porto Business School held the 12th edition of the Career Day for Undergraduates & Master’s, an initiative designed to bring the School’s students closer to the job market and strengthen its connection with the business community.

The event brought together around 50 national and international companies, representing a wide range of sectors, and offered students the opportunity to engage directly with organisations seeking young talent for internships and early career opportunities.

Among the companies present were organisations such as Amorim, Liga Portugal, MDS Group, Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal, Nors, Rangel Logistics Solutions, Sogrape and Sonae, among others, which interacted with students throughout the afternoon at the Career Day fair held on the School’s premises.

One of the central moments of the event was the speed interviews – short interviews of around 15 minutes between students and companies, designed for final-year undergraduate and master’s students. This format enables a first structured contact between candidates and recruiters, creating concrete opportunities for recruitment and internships.

For many students, Career Day represents a valuable opportunity to better understand companies’ expectations and explore potential career paths. Mercedes Cardoso, a third-year Management undergraduate student, highlights the importance of the initiative:

“This is the third consecutive year I have attended Career Day, and I strongly recommend that everyone takes part. The companies are very approachable and clarify any questions we may have, whether about curricular internships, professional internships or summer internships. It is truly a great help, particularly in terms of networking.”

The initiative also included a listening session with companies, led by the School’s leadership, which aimed to gather insights on labour market trends, emerging skills and organisations’ strategic priorities. This ongoing dialogue with the business community helps ensure that the programmes offered by Católica Porto Business School remain aligned with the evolving economic and professional landscape.

The 11th edition of Career Day therefore reinforces Católica Porto Business School’s commitment to fostering closer ties between academia and business, creating opportunities for networking, recruitment and knowledge sharing between students and organisations.
