Designed for first-year Master’s students, the programme is promoted by the School through the Career and Development Office (CDO), with the aim of supporting career development and strengthening connections with the alumni community and professionals working in Portugal and internationally.
The morning began with a welcome session, followed by Learning from Experience: Mentors’ Talk, during which Tiago Silva Pinto (Director at EFG Bank, Swiss Private Bank), Sofia Alves (Co-founder of SustaiNovate) and Hugo Salgueirinho Maia (Partner in the Indirect Taxes team at PwC) shared their experiences as mentors in different professional contexts. The session was moderated by Valquíria Dias, Head of the CDO. Their contributions aimed to inspire the new pairs at the beginning of their journey, highlighting the importance of experience sharing, active listening and trust-building.
Following a Coffee Talks session, which allowed for initial informal conversations, the first mentoring meetings took place. On a sunny day, many of the pairs gathered in the campus garden for this inaugural conversation, beginning their mentoring relationship in a relaxed and informal setting.
Throughout the academic year, the programme will include additional moments of guidance and exchange, consolidating the development journey of each pair. The 31 teams in this edition join a network that already includes more than 600 students and over 300 mentors who have participated in the Programme over the years.
With this initiative, Católica Porto Business School reinforces its commitment to employability, career guidance and fostering strong connections between different generations within its academic and professional community.
