Watching a podcast live, seeing conversations come to life on stage and engaging with debates featuring some of today’s most relevant voices. That is the proposal of Expresso Podfest Porto, arriving in the city for the first time on 29 May, at Teatro Municipal do Porto – Rivoli, with the support of Católica Porto Business School.
The School joins the initiative promoted by the newspaper Expresso, which transforms the podcast format into a live and immersive experience, bringing together hosts, guests and audiences for an afternoon dedicated to conversation, current affairs and the exchange of ideas. Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to attend live recordings of several podcasts from the Expresso universe, including Expresso da Manhã, Geração 40, Money Money Money, Geração 2000 and Blitz Posto Emissor with Pedro Abrunhosa.
Católica Porto Business School’s presence at Expresso Podfest Porto will also include an initiative aimed at participants, inspired by the School’s connection to the city and the theme of storytelling. The initiative invites the public to reflect on the role of Católica Porto Business School in Porto’s history through a creative challenge linked to the School’s Executive Education programmes.
But this is not the School’s only connection to the world of audio.
Católica Porto Business School is also sponsoring the new podcast “Histórias do Porto”, created by SIC journalist Carlos Rico, which premieres on the very day of Expresso Podfest Porto. The first episode will feature Germano Silva in a conversation dedicated to the streets of Porto, their stories and the city’s memory.
The School’s connection to the project comes naturally. For almost four decades in Porto, Católica Porto Business School has grown alongside the city. From its Foz Campus have come students, executives, entrepreneurs, researchers and leaders who have helped , and continue to help, shape new stories, both in Portugal and beyond.
Católica Porto Business School is part of Porto’s history. And a School where stories are created. The idea is part of the School’s campaign associated with the podcast and reflects an identity built between tradition and the future: a globally minded school, closely connected to organisations and deeply rooted in the place where it was founded.
Now recognised among the leading international business schools — and the only business school in Northern Portugal with Triple Crown status (EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB) — Católica Porto Business School continues to strengthen its connection to Porto, supporting initiatives that promote knowledge, innovation and new ways of telling stories.
Expresso Podfest Porto (programme here) takes place on 29 May from 3:00 p.m., at Teatro Municipal do Porto – Rivoli. Attendance is free, subject to registration via email at podfest@expresso.pt.
