Program Description

Throughout my 14 years of extensive experience with China, I have learnt much about the importance of becoming familiar with a market before approaching it. It is not only crucial to secure contacts, but also to go about doing business in the target market in the right way and this implies studying, recognising, and understanding the interaction with the market. Cultural knowledge and the most effective negotiation techniques, as well as knowledge of the reality of each region, are fundamental to be successful in this highly complex country.

Objectives

The goal is to provide a comprehensive view of all aspects of the Chinese market. The programme will cover topics such as the Chinese culture and how it affects doing business, in addition to the logistical, taxation and customs information to be considered. Credit insurance, as a way of establishing a trusting relationship between both parties, will also be addressed. This view will be supported by the presentation of practical cases, and first-hand experience, by individuals renowned in their areas and with vast experience in the relationship between these markets. The programme is entirely taught in Portuguese.

Target Audience

Entrepreneurs from Portugal and Portuguese-speaking countries interested in establishing business relations with China, both in terms of exports and attracting investment.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must hold an academic degree. Candidates without an academic degree will be considered provided that the background and knowledge acquired through professional experience support the admission. The selection process will be based on the requirements defined in the programme regulation and are always based on curricular and professional merit and, if necessary, on the submission order of the applications.
